Mountain Javor

Mountain Javor is one of the mountains in Serbia with highest healing properties and capacities. It is located on 1520 m above sea level and yet not popularized enough for all healing propeties and advantages and the complete range of diseases such are anemia, chronical respiratory deseases, bronchitis, asthma, emphisems, and improving total health conditions and immunity, in general.

The complete region of Ivanjica, with mountain Javor as well, is widely known and rather interesting for its natural beauties and the ecosystem abundant in a wide range of flora and fauna specie. The forests growing on this mountain are rich in beech wood, spruces, oaks, willows, poplars, maples, birch, as well as forest fruits blueberries, roseberries, blackberries, strawberries etc.

Ivanjica region is quite remarkable place to visit for all nature lovers, as well as for all those interested in cultural and historical heritage and monuments such are the oldest school with internate in Ivanjica region, together with the church built by  janja in 1833. These localities are very famous for hunting tourism, thanks to diverse fauna world, and most dominating species such are foxes, rabbits, wolfs, roe dears, wild pigs, pheasants, grouse , eagles, owls,  hawks etc.

Javor is located in the area among rivers Tisovica, Uvac, Brnjica and Nosnica. River Nosnica is the natural border between Javor and Golija, and its highest peak is Vasilin peak on 1520m above sea level. Javor is rich in pastures  and pure springs as well as it became literary historical mountain since there are locations of war battlefields during 1804., 1876-1878. and 1912. Until the Balkan war in 1912., the border between Serbia and Turkish empire was on Javor.

During the spring and summer period, organized tours are providing siteseeing reservate Uvac , with Uvac lake as a part of this natural complex, where guests can enjoy the beauty of nature, driving in boats and visiting caves in the hills around. On Javor – Sjenica road there are Sjenicko lake and Uvaccanyon, where is the natural habitat of whitehead eagle, one of rares in Europe. It is possible to organize weekend tour on Sjenicko lake and drive in boat between the mountains full of cave jewelry as well as visiting kanyon Uvac.
